I just chose a random place in London in both maps.google.com and then decided to view it in local.live.com to see the difference.
http://maps.google.com/ vs http://local.live.com/
From what I can see there is not much in the way of difference. I do live local.live.com ability to find landmarks quicker, but I prefer maps.google.com anyday.
